St. David's Women's Center of Texas Announces Medical Director Specializing in Obstetrical Ultrasound and Fetal Testing

BauerAUSTIN, Texas—St. David’s Women’s Center of Texas, located on the campus of St. David’s North Austin Medical Center, recently announced Samuel T. Bauer, M.D., FACOG, as its new Medical Director of High-Risk Ultrasound and Fetal Testing.

In this role, Bauer will help create and implement a Fetal Testing Center at St. David’s Women’s Center of Texas, as well as educate medical and hospital staff on protocol development and research related to antenatal surveillance.

Bauer has extensive training in all forms of prenatal diagnosis and therapy, including first trimester screening, chorionic villous sampling, fetal echocardiography, management of multiple gestations and pregnancies complicated by abnormal placentation.

Bauer completed his fellowship training at Columbia University Medical Center’s College of Physicians and Surgeons and its teaching hospital affiliate, New York-Presbyterian Hospital.

He received a medical degree from the University of Kansas, as well as a Bachelor of Arts in Women’s Studies from the University of Michigan in Ann Arbor. Bauer spent part of his residency training overseas in Ghana and completed his residency in obstetrics and gynecology at the University of Michigan.

Throughout his career, Bauer has won numerous maternal-fetal medicine academic and clinical awards and has presented and published his research throughout the United States and abroad.

Bauer is a member of the Society for Maternal-Fetal Medicine, the American Institute of Ultrasound in Medicine, the International Society of Ultrasound in Obstetrics and Gynecology, and the American College of Obstetricians and Gynecologists.
